Hello Friends! As some of you may know I have begun the next step in this journey. Support raising. Sending out support letters and completing my first fundraiser! God has been teaching me and showing me the incredible ways he is going to provide for me. Laying it all down at his feet and recognizing he has complete control is not easy however each step deeper into dependence on God I am blessed by his peace, his unconditional love and plans for me. I often find myself caught in the wonder and aw of the fact that we have a God that works on each and every one of our behalf. More about that in future posts!

Below you will find the letter I have slowly begun sending out to family and friends. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like a physical copy, have any questions, or if you would like to schedule a time to get together or speak on the phone. I would love to chat! I pray that you would all have a wonderful day, thank you for taking the time to stop in! Know that I am so incredibly blessed and grateful for each and everyone of you.

I have very exciting news to share! Instead of going to college next year, I have decided to step out in faith and go on the World Race: Gap Year.

The World Race is a program through Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational nonprofit missions’ organization that focuses on discipleship, prayer, and the relationship between God and his people. Established in 1989, it has brought over 100,000 people to the mission field.  I am so honored to have been accepted into this program in order to bring the Word of the Lord and his love all around the World!

In September 2020, I will be leaving to travel to Romania, India and Costa Rica. I will live in each country for three months. Although each country, month, week, and even day will look different, some of the things the team will be doing includes: Passing out Bibles and eyeglasses to at-risk communities in Romania; joining the rapidly growing church planting movement happening in India; sharing God’s love through teaching English within the communities of Costa Rica. I genuinely feel as though the Lord has called me to spend my first year out of high school serving Him in radical ways, and I think the World Race will be that perfect opportunity. I have a heart for missions and getting to partake in this would fulfill so many dreams of mine.

I would love to invite you along on this journey and extend to you the opportunity to help me along the journey!! There are two ways to become a part of this journey.

Prayer:

  1. For me and my team, that we would delight in our new community together, and grow together in the name of the Lord. Pray that each of our gifts be used to bring Him glory.
  2. For the people we will encounter. That we can use our stories to make connections and form lasting relationships!
  3. Over the number $16,000. That is the amount I need in order to partake in this, that I would have faith in the Lords radical provision over that number.

Financial support:

I am asked to raise about $16,000. That being said, please pray about financially supporting me through this trip. Any amount is genuinely appreciated! My fundraising goal includes the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while abroad. I know that the God who called me to this is faithful to provide. While you may not be traveling to a distant country, you are still doing something significant by enabling me to walk out my call and be the hands and feet of Jesus. By supporting this mission, you are a part of God’s Kingdom work!

There are two ways you can financially donate:

  1. Via my blog https://abigailbenedick.theworldrace.org. Not only does this act as a place for donations, but I will also be posting regularly about my journey — subscribe if you would like to stay updated!
  2. By check. Please make all checks payable to Adventures in Missions. I have enclosed a fundraising card that must be filled out and sent with your check to the address listed on the card.

Thank you, I am beyond excited for this amazing opportunity God has placed in my life.  If you want to talk, or have any questions, here are some ways to contact me; email – [email protected] phone – 717-925-9402

I would love to have a conversation whether it be over coffee, or the phone, so I will be following up soon to set that up if you’re interested!
