Hello All!

It is a joy to get to share with you all that we did in March and share how you can be praying over my Squad and I as we begin April, month eight of a race!

This month was a month of transition. We started out the month finishing her last two weeks serving in Puerto Viejo, those were two very full weeks. We came back from Tsuiri, helped build a house, and did a lot of lasts in a place that had become home. Last Monday morning worship with the staff, last Sabbath, last breakfast prep and then goodbyes to people we had all grown to love.

We then headed to the mountains where we had a weeklong debrief at a Christian camp called, La Montana. It was a restful week of sessions, worship, and time to process and reflect on our time in Costa Rica.

We spent a day traveling and then this last week and a half of March we have spent in the Dominican Republic! We spent the first day or so resting after a long travel day and then the rest the time getting used to the new way of life here on Hope mountain. Starting a new ministry assignments, learning the new schedule and expectations. Read my blog post, “Welcome to Hope mountain” to hear what ministry looks like!

Some of the challenges I faced this month  were the goodbyes to Costa Rica. I became very close friends with Kish, one of the base staff members in Puerto Viejo and Costa Rica was the closest thing to returning home to PNG which made it hard to say goodbye. However, some of the things that were really sweet from this past month were the fun memories made with Kish that last week we were in Costa Rica, having parties with the staff, running errands together etc. it was a sweet goodbye. Also getting to rest and just enjoy hanging out during debrief and then moving to such a beautiful place where we get to spend his last two months of the race partnering with a really neat ministry!

Praises!

  1. Sweet goodbyes and fun memories with her Puerto Viejo friends.
  2. Time to rest and refill at debrief before coming to the DR.
  3. Safe and smooth travels to debrief and then to the Dominican Republic!
  4. New ministry opportunities here in the DR as we serve with hope DR!

Prayer Requests!

  1. That we would all continue to settle in well!
  2. For my Squad and I to remain present where we are at. With only two months left of the race the end seems so near yet it is still far off and some days are harder than others to remain present and not looking anxiously or excitedly to the future.
  3. With the above prayer request that we would give our all to the ministry we are doing, and serve wholeheartedly the people of the DR.
  4. For host as they manage a lot of moving parts of their ministry as well as caring for us. That we would be an encouragement and be able to help lift their burdens.

Thank you for your prayers and support in this journey! Know I appreciate you so very much and couldn’t be doing this without you.

Have a Blessed April!
